Sharia Laws four Sunni schools of Islamic jurisprudence plus the Jaafri school of thought support women,though only one reference of how Sharia has favored our women rights on marriage, divorce, voting and inheritance written 1400 years ago.
These rights man-made are open to so much misuse as has been the case for many centuries. Dictatorial and oppressive regimes have used it to suppress the rights of women and minorities. The countries where religion is used as a bait to gain power or vet votes. Stoning, flogging and honor killings were never a part of Sharia and it’s up to us to see that it never happens in Western Society, though it is starting to begin in Western Societies. Sharia must be updated and brought to par with modern life and ensure our rights and freedom.

Assalam Alaikum. Dear Sisters,God Almighty Allah has given everything in proportionate order. What belongs to you take it, what belongs to men they take it from the Quran and Sunnah. And Allah commands us to take the word of His and His Prophet's. Do not deviate. You know what happens when a baby gets 4 hands and 4 legs? Doctors have to cut it and imagine 40 surgeons struggling for many hours to do so at the great risk for the life of the baby. You know Hindus worship Laxmi and other female (and male) deities with several hands and legs. So here you know how difficult it is in reality to have like these and for the person who has these extra limbs. So you women here are asking for something extra from whom? from Moulavis? Muslim Men? Governments? UNO? God? who can give you extra rights? Shariah is from Allah and any legislations done based on these can be having human mistakes, because not all the people are sitting in an assembly or in a meeting. It is not possible for millions of people to sit together and draft laws. So they chose or select their representatives and they handle the legislation. Let us be clear that what ever the Shariah laws are there in the Quran and Sunnah we can not change them. We can only make laws or regulations within their perimeters. Allah warned us not to trespass His Boundaries lest we face dreadful punishment from Him as a result. But you women are always welcome to first study sharia and come out with your own recommendations. It is better if we have our own women parliaments for muslim women where in they will discuss women and family specific things and pass the recommendations to the concerned authorities, say primeminister or president of a certain muslim country. This is one of the good options instead of sitting in a general parliament where in women are not getting specific attention. It is upto women to study Islam and follow the proper guidelines.
